Crab Spider, titled Small but Mighty

I have a terrible phobia of spiders based on an incident when I was 6 months old.  I even had nightmares about this event until I was in my late 30’s.  I didn’t realize I was reliving a memory every night, I just thought it was a reoccurring nightmare, until my mom corrected me.  Once I knew it wasn’t a nightmare but a memory, I stopped having it (thankfully).  I’m  pretty confident I will never paint a Wolf Spider but, I am an avid gardener and being one, have seen my share of these beautiful little spiders.  They tuck themselves in between petals of flowers and appear pink, yellow, blue, as they reflect the colour of the flowers.  I’ve never seen one off of a petal, they’re normally smaller than my pinky nail, they don’t have egg sacks that they carry around, they don’t have long black hairy legs, they also don’t mimic your movements (wolf spiders) 🫣. For now, I will gladly paint Crab spiders,  maybe, maybe this will be the only one!
