Mastering Watercolour Effects with Acrylics April 24 -May 29.
Wednesday Evenings 6:30 – 9:30 pm
In this six week program we will investigate watercolour techniques and how they can be translated with the convenience of acrylics. Delve into paint transparency, colour theory, value, and mediums vs water. We will discuss and test papers, boards, and canvas to use to our advantage. You will paint any subject you like from your own reference photos and your results will be fresh, flowing paintings you’ll be proud to frame. I will supply your paint, pallet and painting supports for a one time $10 material fee. There is also a material list available for your convenience that covers all other necessary tools to bring for a successful course.

Painting Wild Birds. June 24 – 28.
Join me for this week long workshop while we explore our feathered friends with transparent acrylics on Yupo paper. Yupo is a non absorbent paper which does not absorb any paint. This allows for spontaneous, juicy, wet passages that can be manipulated to look like watercolour. I supply all necessary items needed, just bring an apron and join me in creating a finished painting of your favourite backyard bird!

Introduction to Yupo and Acrylics. Saturday July 13.
Join me for this one day artistic workshop where we will explore the properties of acrylic paints, mark making tools, and Yupo paper. Yupo is a non-absorbent paper that allows the paint to pool and puddle making it ideal for watercolour like passages. You can combine different painting styles to create an incredibly unique work of art. You can work with abstraction or any reference material you wish. With my guidance, you will become familiar with these wonderful mediums. I will supply all the necessary items needed, you only have to bring an apron and join me.
