I love Loons, I have a number of friends who are avid semi professional photographers who are kind enough to allow me to use their photos for reference. They go far out of their way to capture Loon images, my friend Carol even dunked herself by accidentally tipping her kayak, and all her expensive telephoto equipment in frigid fall water, trying to capture images of Junior, a Loon she had been documenting since his birth. I may use photos for my animal references but my backgrounds are completely made up. I wanted a Sunset, and a Loon, and then it just had to have rocks! Carols story made me feel cold, this painting warms me up!
This painting is Acrylic and Graphite on Yupo paper. The paper is permanently mounted onto Gallery panel. Hanging hardware is attached and you can hang it as is, or have it framed for display. I have coated it with two coats of varnish for UV protection and longevity.
