Common Loon titled Morning Stretch

24” x 30”

I live in a charmed part of Ontario, we are surround by many pristine lakes and the iconic cottage country scenery.  We are lucky to have many Loons in the area, and we all remember the time we heard our first Loon call!!  What a haunting, melodic trill, it burns its way into your bones and sets up residency there.  For your lifetime, it harkens up memories of quiet misty mornings overlooking the water, coffee in hand, soaking in the energy of the scene.  You can’t help but adore such a majestic creature.   I have included the Ojibwe word Nimishoomis around the outer edge.  In Ojibwe, Nimishoomis translates to My Grandfather, who is my Ojibwe ancestor.  I have included it around the outer edges as a way to embrace that part of my heritage, I’ve never had any exposure to it, but I know it has helped define me and I finally feel like my expression is complete by honouring that part of me.  💙
