This beautiful mixed media painting celebrates my love of the garden. The tangled, chaotic mass of colour in the typical cottage garden was what I was going for here. I built the painting up in layers in the same way a cottage garden grows. This piece was instrumental in solidifying my new found passion for mixed media. I also added the Ojibwe around the outer edge embracing the piece as a way to embrace my lineage. Nimishoomis is repeated around the border and means My Grandfather in Ojibwe. He is embracing my work, I am honouring my heritage.
