Crab Spider, titled “Small but Mighty”

Like many of you, I have a Spider phobia (insert scream here). I will strip off clothes and dance like I’ve been struck by lightening if I thought I saw one on me.  True story!!  I challenged myself to paint an arachnid, and chose the adorable crab spider.  Of all the spider varieties, I find this one the least threatening because it’s cute!  I am an avid gardener, and am getting used to finding these little ones tucked inside flower petals staring out at me and the big ol’ world.  I still give them a wide berth though…  I used hot sunshine, gardens and summer as the inspiration behind this piece.
